"I hope Anthony from Melloy Dodge never stops selling cars because I will NEVER buy from another person as long as he does." - Twinriders23

Overall Score: 5
I can honestly
say that there is light shed on car sales people.
Every car I have ever bought, the experience has always been horrible. I
love new cars, but I have ALWAYS hated the process.
Anthony Martinez of Melloy Dodge has definitely changed my mind. He was
very, very helpful and knowledgeable. After the test drive, he took us
in the showroom, got me and my children bottles of water and chips. He
was so nice to my children and myself. The whole process took about an
hour and a half as opposed to the regular 6 or 7 hours I've spent in the
past buying cars. He gave me a great deal and assured me that he would
be there for any questions I may have. I hope he never stops selling
cars because I will NEVER buy from another person as long as he does. I
recommend Anthony and Melloy Dodge to all my friends and family now.
Thank you very, very much Anthony.

What’s in a Name? Logos from Past and Present
Badges, scripts, emblems, logos…no matter what you call them, there’s plenty of mystique tied up in a vehicle’s nameplate.
When the Dodge brothers, Horace and John, built their first automobile back in 1914, their final touch was a small enamel badge on the radiator with their company logo: a circle with two interlocking triangles inside, one white and one black, forming a six-pointed star. Old school machinists, the brothers were fiercely proud of their work and the emblem was their badge of honor.
Through nearly 100 years of Dodge history, a series of badges and logos evolved. In 1932, the first Dodge Ram mascot made an appearance. Today that Ram represents Dodge’s sibling brand, RAM Trucks. In 1940 a crest with a knight’s helmet was introduced, growing more stylized each year as the cars became more streamlined and modern.
From 1962 to 1981, the Dodge emblem had a colorful internal label: It was called a fratzog. Three arrow shapes pointed inward to form a three-sided star. Not knowing what else to call the imaginative design, a Dodge stylist made up the whimsical name. Today the Dodge brand is physically represented by the name DODGE spelled out in bold, upper-case block letters, accompanied by two diagonal red stripes, which symbolize speed and agility.
In the swinging sixties, wild model names became all the rage, especially in the muscle car lineups. In 1968, fellow Chrysler brand Plymouth introduced the Road Runner, based on the Saturday morning cartoon character. Dodge followed suit in 1969 with the Super Bee, featuring a caricature of a crazy little bug with racing goggles and a helmet. Popular? They sure were. Decades later, the legend continues with the Super Bee. It’s a hot SRT-prepared Charger with a 392 HEMI® V8 and 470 horsepower. But be careful, you might get stung.

1973 Dodge Monaco
The elegant Monaco was the top of the line in two-door hardtops from Dodge in 1973. On the strength of its 122-inch wheelbase and enormous, almost living-room-sized interior, Dodge called the big cruiser “one of the roomiest and most comfortable cars on the road regardless of price,” and justifiably so.
Loaded with features, the Monaco’s standard equipment included power steering, power disc brakes,
electric clock, and wood-grain interior trim. TorqueFlite automatic transmission was also standard, coupled to the buyer’s choice of a wide array of engines: the standard 360-cubic-inch V8, a 400 with two-barrel carburetor, or the monster 440 V8 with four-barrel carburetor and 280 horsepower.
The 1973 model year was the Monaco’s last for what was known as Fuselage Styling, which the car shared with its Dodge stablemate, the Polara. Introduced in 1969, the Fuselage design used curved side glass and other effects to blend the lower and upper halves of the body together for a smoother, more unified look.
The company romantically described the Fuselage concept this way: “Your next car can have a fuselage frame that curves up and around you in one fluid line. Close the window and the arc is complete. From under the doors to over the cockpit. Inside your next car, a cool, quiet room of curved glass and tempered steel…a controlled environment for you and each individual passenger…an extension of your own exhilaration of movement. Your next car can be a car you can move up to. Without effort. Your next car is here. Today.”
The easily recognizable features that set the Monaco apart from the rest of the Dodge lineup are the hidden headlamps, which reduce the front end’s look to a few simple, classic elements. The Monaco name would continue on with Dodge until 1978, but it never topped the 1973 edition for style.
